We live in the Grosse Pointe Woods area, about 25 minutes away from the venue. If you visit us during your stay, we can recommend a number of restaurants that we frequent.
Sy Thai Shores – High quality Thai food with plenty of Gluten free and Vegan/Vegetarian options.
Athenian Shish Kebob – Our favorite Greek diner. Get yourself some gyro, a baby greek salad, and a cup of their lemon rice soup to try our normal picks.
Waves – A great select of seafood. Delicious bread. You have to try the carrot fries.
The Original Pancake House – Some of the best crepes and Dutch Babies in the area. The location of our first date.
Mack Ave. Grill – Solid American food and delicious salads. Our second date spot.
Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream – The best hand-dipped ice cream in town.
Wally’s Frozen Custard – Our favorite frozen custard place. Get a Bananas Foster or Reese’s Peanut Butter Avalanche!

Attractions

The venue is at Greenfield Village, a part of the Henry Ford Museum. We highly recommend visiting the Museum and Village during the normal visiting hours to experience a place we loved so much as to make it our venue. Our favorite spots in the Village are the Cotswold Cottage, the Daggett Farmhouse, and the craft shops around the Stony Creek Mill Pond.

Not too far away is the Detroit Institute of Art, where we went to our first Valentine’s Day date. We couldn’t get through half of the exhibits we wanted to see before our feet were aching and we keep saying we’re going to go back soon to finish the rest.

And we are huge fans of the Metroparks throughout the Detroit Metro Area. Our favorite is the Lake St. Clair Metro Park, but nearby is also the Lower Huron Metropark.
