Once upon a time (November 2024), Clay and June met through the “Bumble” dating app. The stars aligned. It was June’s first day on the app and was about to be Clay’s last. Talk about fate!
After a series of dates for breakfast, dinner, ice cream, crafting, and movie nights, they made the relationship official on December 3rd 2024.
During the holidays, June started spending more and more time at Clay’s house, and by the end of the year she just never left!
While enjoying their first year together, they stayed busy. June officially moved in and spent the year renovating, painting, and decorating the house, along with some extensive gardening! Clay assisted and offered much support to that effort. The two enjoyed vacations to Mackinac Island, Glen Arbor/ Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Frankenmuth. Scattered in there somewhere, Clay used his talent for cooking, and June used her baking skills to create lots of memorable holidays and get togethers with family and friends. Their love grew every day.
The week of the couple’s one year anniversary, chaos ensued as the sewer line under their home exploded, the plumber’s van was stolen out of their driveway, and the backyard and basement had to be torn up! Clay is stubborn, so this wasn’t about to stop his plans…
On the evening of December 3rd, 2025, Clay recreated the pair’s second date. After dinner at the Mack Ave Grille and ice cream at Ashby’s (yes, winter ice cream), he took June’s hand and walked with her through the freshly fallen snow to a nearby one-room schoolhouse decked out in Christmas lights. A perfect spot to propose… She said yes!
